Why this unified platform for the WOMEN public health enthusiast is needed

The life-course of a woman is far different than of a male at least in the Bangladesh context, we have to encounter multiple obstacles in the family and social level such as education is only for a good marriage, early marriage, different kinds of abuse, lack of decision-making rights, imposed career choice etc.

Women tend to forget their own life goals and devote themselves to raising their families. Also, they have to endure the trouble of conflict in relationships such as with their husband, in-laws etc. Also there are other competing priorities such as primary caregivers of the parents, children or May be in laws

Public health career is very time demanding that has no set routine and requires a lot of extra hours of hard work, and determination to always learn new things, sometimes women are unable to balance the workload between family and career hence they draw a pause on the career growth.

Women stay in the overprotected environment due to safety issues and public health requires extensive traveling and fieldwork to peripheral or remote areas. As women, we lack family support to carry out these kinds of activities and we change our careers.

As evidence said, women suffer from more physical and mental health problems such as thyroid disorders, PCOS, other gynecological issues, and also common mental health conditions. This itself limits their strength to carry out difficult career paths

Public health requires higher or advanced training sometimes from foreign schools. Not every woman is supported by their family or husband to pursue their studies abroad and we then compromise with our career choice.
