Collaboration
WSIF is an online community that for the last three years had aimed to promote women empowerment and mental health wellbeing. It is a noble initiative and extremely well accepted by the community. It conducts public awareness sessions on various mental health issues, training volunteers as psychosocial supporters. WSIF has a social media women’s club where women share and exchange views with each other, causing an increased level of understanding about issues affecting women in society enabling them towards empowerment.
WSIF believes that to widespread the awareness and services across the community, collaborations with partners are crucial.
We have a panel of extremely capable team members with various skills, as well as an effective network with other large women communities. Since most of the team members are medically qualified , we also promote general health and wellbeing including mental health in our community of more than thirty thousand women.
Besides, all our mental health awareness activities, WSIF has been posting different health awareness messages, conducting regular webinars by experts, providing free psychosocial first aid to women and online consultations with psychologists and psychiatrists even in this COVID situation. Currently, we have more than 50 clients who are availing themselves of our personal counselling sessions with a minimal charge. In this crisis period, we have observed that mental health issues and help seeking behaviour have increased amongst the student population. We understand their needs, hence we are trying to make their path for availing counselling sessions easier and affordable. In order to keep this running, we have designed a scheme “Project Rising” where we have provided 500 free counselling sessions to 100 students who have reached out to us for help. This way, we can seek to prevent a lot of mental health conditions such as, major depressive disorders, severe mental illness the consequences of which are loss of productivity, self harmand suicide. So,we are looking for collaborators who would join us in this noble initiative to provide free counselling sessions to these students, who are the future leaders of Bangladesh. This will be a contribution for an important social and moral cause.
