Saying thank you to the recommender!

  • Post comments:0 Comments

Being a recommender means a commitment of time and energy. It has to be understood that the recommender selflessly reserves a part of his/her busy schedule to provide a recommendation. Hence, a little gratitude goes a long way! Here are some ways for thanking the recommender:

  1. Start by sending out a personalized note or email appreciating the recommender for his/her act of kindness.
  2. A thank you letter within 24 hours after a positive interview should contain several points like greetings and recognition of the vital role played by the recommender.
  3. Inform the recommender about the results of the interview
  4. Stay connected with your recommender via LinkedIn or other online platforms.
  5. Keep on updating the recommender about major career and personal life milestones.
  6. Remind the recommender about them playing a major role in your professional growth and enhancing your knowledge.
  7. Always support the recommender when volunteer work or any other tasks are assigned. Being gracious and respectful towards the recommender will incline him/her into writing a second recommendation letter if needed.
