Dr. Kamrun Nahar Koly won the award with the prestigious ‘Mujib 100 Research Grants for Women’ (Mujib 100 RGfW) for her research proposal, which aims to explore intimate partner violence and it’s link to mental health, especially among the underprivileged population during the ongoing pandemic. Bangladesh government has launched this prestigious award with icddr,b in commemoration of the birth centenary of Bangladesh’s Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and in celebration of icddr,b’s 60 years of scientific brilliance. The purpose of this grant was to create a new generation of female researchers and scientists in Bangladesh. Women researchers from all parts of the country applied and only 10 got the awards after multiple layers of scrutiny.
