I always have been a sufferer of severe PMS and wondering where’s the solution. In many developed countries, there are even Counselling opportunities and here we aren’t even aware of this fact. Let us know some basics of PMS now. Premenstrual Syndrome: ‘Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)’ is a condition that affects a woman’s emotions, physical health, and behavior prior to menstruation. PMS is a very common condition affecting up to 85 percent of menstruating women. The symptoms usually occur one to two weeks before menstruation and resolve around the start of menstrual bleeding. PMS happens in the days after ovulation as the level of estrogen and progesterone begins to fall. What are the signs and symptoms?PMS consists of a series of recurrent physical and emotional symptoms. The common physical symptoms include fatigue, abdominal cramp, tenderness in the breasts, cyclic acne, and joint or muscle pain, food cravings, etc. Psychological complaints like stress, depression, anxiety, irritability, and mood swings are also encountered during PMS. What to do? Lifestyle modification can be an approach to reduce premenstrual symptoms.

The following can be maintained to relieve PMS:
• Personal hygiene
• Take adequate rest
• Use a hot water bag to keep warm the lower abdomen
• Avoid stressful works
• Take healthy food
• Avoid caffeine and alcohol all the women, there is nothing to worry about PMS.

We all experience this condition and this is very common. So do not let PMS ruin your month. Live a healthy life and beat PMS.
