Bullying: Ways to Cope up with

It is very possible for every person to experience bullying at least once in a lifetime. It can happen anywhere, at school or other educational institutes, at the workplace, on the street, even at home. I also had this sort of experience during my adolescence. I know, bullying may have a significant effect on mental health. The following ways can be helpful to cope up with bullying:

  1. Seeking advice:

 The first way to cope up with bullying is to let someone know who is most trustable. The person can be anybody- family/friend/teacher. Getting advice can make things easier and can show the way to do now.

  1. Talking with the bully:

Depending on who the bully is, if accessible, it can be a good idea to talk with the bully and make him/her understand the negative effect of it.

  1. Focusing on inner thoughts: 

It is important to recognize that no matter what other people are saying, nothing about their own self is going to change. What a person is thinking about him/her is more precious than another person’s opinion. So, it is vital to think positively about oneself.

  1. Self-care: 

Doing self-care, both mental and physical, can eliminate the negative impact of bullying. Meditation, relaxation, breathing exercise, any form of physical exercise are good ways to take care of mental and physical health.

  1. Using personal diary:

 Writing down what is happening in everyday life can be an effective way of disposing of the negativity of the mind. It can be similar to sharing your own thoughts with others.

  1. Going for a legal action:

 If things totally are out of control, legal actions can be the last option to opt-in for. But it must come when everything has already been tried and no positive outcome has come.

  1. Getting professional help:

 If it is becoming exceedingly difficult to manage the negative impact of bullying, counseling or therapy can be appropriate to deal with this matter. Hope the techniques will be helpful.
